Anachronism Inspiration

Okay so by suggestion of Mr.Ross, I decided I would work with the Pre Raphaelite paintings since they were known for their long flowing hair and I was working with the idea of having a girl with short hair way before it was in style. I saw this painting and thought that I could work with the idea of mermaids with short hair. Though I might have to make it a little more conservative for school purposes.

ArtStart: "Artists who seek perfection in everything are those who cannot attain it in anything" - Eugene Delacrois

By seeking perfection in everything, in the end, you'll get nothing done. To try to achieve perfection, it's truly humanly impossible. Humans are supposed to be imperfect beings, not perfect, and that's what's so brilliant about us. That we have to be imperfect to achieve anything in life.

Fairy Tale Project

Okay so the fairy tale I decided to do was Rapunzel (the story version, even though Tangled is truly my favorite version). In the Tangled version, I honestly felt like I connected with the story and how Rapunzel was just trying to escape her mom, kinda like how I am.
Okay so I didn't put this through Photoshop or Illustrator. This is a mixed-media work still because I used chalk pastel and water color to do it, plus a sharpie pen. The background is supposed to be the tower she was stuck in and I decided to fill in the crack of the space with black to contrast the lighter purple like Camille Rose Garcia is known to do. I then took another piece of paper and drew the hair and mix with yellow water color and yellow chalk pastel. Then I decided to take the sharpie pen and made like a braid of thorns to contrast the blonde.

Knowing me, I would probably accidentally drop my favorite ring that I always wear.  Though for some reason, I keep imagine an Alice in Wonderland twist to it where it somehow ends up in a teacup and I have to search through like thousands of tea cups to find it. Maybe do like Princess and the Pea style, instead of only me being able to feel it, I can only see it. Then I see like someone almost drinking and honestly, I think that would give me a heart attack.

Invention

This was suppose to be for the Invention project that was due way back when. Now, I used just acrylic paint on canvas and mixed three different colors (pink, grey, and cream) to make the different colors of the thought bubbles. I used Photoshop to color in the background black and give it some sort of faded look near the bubbles.  The different colors are supposed to represent the different thoughts and ideas that are floating through your mind that create inventions. The black background is suppose to be the mind itself. When the bubbles are overlapping, it's suppose to show how different ideas come together and recreate a new idea or invention.

Valentine's Series (Day 1)

Already, I seemed to mess up by making two of Valentine's upside down! That's truly frustrates me to no end, but I wonder if I can just go into Photoshop and just select them and flip them right side up? Or I can just redraw them.

Sandman (Technically Rough Draft)

Alright so I would like to thank Magan for letting me borrow her laptop to post this! I also used it to make it look faded and add the dark edges to it. I based this piece of of the Endless family which why their names are all around the clock. The hourglass in the middle of the clock is suppose to represent how time is endless, connecting it to the Endless family. I have another copy of this where parts of it are colored with pastels which I will have to upload too.
