Ideas for Cinnamon Project

Okay so I decided for this project I would try to combine my photoshop skills and my traditional art style. How I'm going to do this I'm not sure but I'm really excited to find out how this ends!

I've learned that the difference between Photoshop and Illustrator is that photoshop has more to do with putting other images in an image while Illustrator has to do with taking an image or a blank page and turning it into something new. Vector images have more to do with this project seeing how we used geometric shapes and points to make this happen and raster images have to do with the original image that I started with. I learned a little more about the pen tool and eyedropper in Illustrator. Actually, the pen tool reminds me a lot of the lasso tool in Photoshop. I think my favorite part about this was doing the neck and my checks and stuff because you can really tell the different shades and such on those parts of my face the best. I hated doing my eyes. I made one of them way too big and it just looks super awkward. I would definitely try to make smaller shapes for the eyes and not rush this so much like I did towards the end.

Earlier, I was sitting on my porch, looking at the tree that my grandfather planted so many years ago. It's not a big tree, but that's okay. I used to spend hours lying underneath it just reading or taking a nap. I've been thinking about what I should start shooting for practice in photography. I remember Mr.Moncrief mentioning something about how the best pictures have the subject of something they care about. I think I have my subject.

I was looking for shading techniques among Google images and what not and I came across this awesome picture of a lock of hair and shading to give it texture, shadow, and highlights. Realistic drawings aren't my strong points but this is definitely something I will have to try next time in the mood to try my luck on realistic drawings. Other shading on hair including what i have posted

During this project, besides learning exactly what influences me, I learned what's important to me without even realizing it. How I value my friends and my favorite teacher more than anything and how I consider my friends my actual family more than my real one. I had a really hard time thinking about what influences me mostly because I didn't know I care about all this.
